Cafe Lily's Angel Project
Greetings, friends, family, and new guests of Café Lily:

For those of you who didn't already know, my father and co-founder, Angelo Pitillo, passed away from pancreatic cancer Thanksgiving Day 2007. He was fortunate enough, however, to spend his final two months in the wonderful facility, Hospice Atlanta Center. First of all, I would again like to personally and formally thank Hospice Atlanta Center for taking such great care of my father through that extremely difficult time. The level of comfort and generous support he received from their staff was indeed unparalleled in my experience. They have a wonderful and beautiful group of folks working there. They provided my father and the rest of my family with the kind of peaceful nurturing and gentle reassurance that people need when going through the mysterious and sometimes frightening experience of terminal illness, and for that, I wholeheartedly thank them personally as well. My father grew to love several members of the staff there, so I know that I can speak for him when I say that he was extremely grateful to have been so fortunate to have known them and spend his final days in their care. They are truly 'angels on Earth.'

In consideration of my heartfelt appreciation of what Hospice Atlanta Center does for people like my family, I have established a special project here at the restaurant, fittingly called, 'Lily's Angel Project - In Memory of Angelo Pitillo.' The Project entails an ongoing series of quarterly events held at the Café, and all proceeds from each event will benefit Hospice Atlanta Center. Through Lily's Angel Project, I not only want to raise awareness of Hospice Atlanta Center and of what great things it does for the community, but also to directly raise funds to help continue to support the Center's programs, staff, and facilities. With the support of our friends and family we managed to raise over $15,000 in 2008! Please join us in this endeavor to help support this wonderful organization further in 2009. I know for sure we're having a ton of fun in the process! I've set a more modest goal of $15,000, which should be a breeze with your assistance!
Sincerely yours,

Anthony Pitillo,
Chef/Owner
